Receive Faxes for Free with eFax

efax_150In the current digital age, the fax machine has become almost obsolete.

Almost obsolete. But not quite.

Several times per year, I am required to receive a fax of some sort. I have no desire to own a bulky, antiquated fax machine. Kinko’s will charge you some ridiculous fee for the privilege. You want to know another option to receive faxes for free? For the past several years, I have been using the services of a company called eFax.

How does it work?

Once you sign up, they provide you with a free fax number from which people can send you a fax. When a fax gets sent to you, you will receive an email of the fax. You need to install some special software on your computer (mac compatible) which allows you to view the fax and print it if desired.

What’s the catch?

None, really. As long as you don’t need to receive lots of faxes, it’s a great service. If you want to send faxes or want to receive more than 20 pages per month or want to get a local fax number, then you must upgrade to a paid service.
