Epocrates is a piece of software that I found invaluable in med school. Let me tell you what it is and how you can get it for free.

Epocrates is a piece of software that not only contains an easy reference for all FDA-approved drugs, but also  can serve as a reference for clinical medicine. It has a list of major diseases and conditions with a list of associated symptoms. It’s like having your own personal doctor.

Even if you aren’t medical student, if you have any interest in diseases that you or your loved ones might have, it’s great to have a reference at the tip of your hand.

For a limited time (3/17 & 3/18), you can download this iPhone app for free ($150 value). It’s supposed to be geared for medical students only, but they do not verify your status if you sign up as a medical student.

Info on signing up for the ePocrates app

**This app is no substitute for a real doctor!!

If you are a student at a medical school participating in the Free Epocrates Essentials for Medical Students program, you can still download Epocrates Essentials.
