Free Live Sports TV Channels with P2P Streaming

ana-ivanovicI am a big tennis fan.

The Australian Open is currently going on (Go Rafa!) but unfortunately I don’t have any way to watch it without paying for it.

Did you know that you can stream any sports event for free to your computer?Foreign countries often show many sports for free on their channels. Through P2P networking, one can stream a lot of foreign TV channels to their computer. Sure, it might not be in English, but who cares! It’s all about seeing the sports action.

What’s the catch? None really. There is not a Mac client so you’ll have to use a PC (Or VMWare/Parallels; it DOES work). Quality kind of sucks (grainy) but it’s good enough for me. You’ll need a good internet connection (dial-up is too slow).

There are several different streaming software packages you might need to install depending on what channel you want: SopCast, TVU, PPStream

Here is how you do it

  1. Check out the MyP2p website to see what sports are currently on
  2. See what channels are playing that particular sports event (on the website)
  3. See which software package is required for that channel (on the website)
  4. Install that software if you don’t have it (see links above)
  5. Click the sports event (on the website) to start the streaming

You can watch tons of sports that aren’t on U.S. channels this way. Enjoy!
